The Ripple Milk You See Online Is Not What You Get In Canada

milk aisle in grocery store

Ripple milk in Canada is not fortified with calcium unlike its counterpart in the USA.

This is unfortunately quite misleading. The website claims that Ripple contains more calcium than milk but there is no indication anywhere that it is not fortified with calcium when sold in Canada. So I combed through the website again....in fine print "pertains to US products only". Sneaky sneaky.

Honestly, I came to know of this when another RD colleague brought it to my attention (and am I glad she did!).

This is a deal-breaker. So far in Canada, soy milk remains the closest substitute to cow's milk (although slightly under in terms of fat).
